Cheaper to buy this than rent a Jack Hammer

Needed to add a bathroom in my garage and needed a way of breaking up the contrete in there to run the sewer pipe. Originally thought I could do it with a saw and sledge. Quickly discovered I couldnt so I grabbed my very large air hammer and took a shot at it. Granted it was better than the sledge it wasnt much though. Finally decided to just rent a jack hammer and went to the local rental yard and I couldnt believe how much they are to rent. The cheapest was 300$ to rent for one day!!!! Thats insane. I literally needed it for a couple hours best. So I decided to a generic one online and give it a shot. And boy am I glad I did. This jack hammer blew through my concrete pad of around 2' wide by 10' long in about 45 mins. It did make my arms feel like jello, but it was a beast and actually not very hard to handle either.

Pros:
-Cheaper than renting one
-Massive power easily destroyed 6" thick concrete foundation.
-Well made and comes with tools needed
-Lots and lots of power
-Used it to also destroy a tree stump, its just that powerful

Cons:
-Cord is short and you need a very heavy duty extension cord to use or youll be tripping breakers constantly.

Honestly my only con would apply to any jack hammer or anything that uses a lot of power and amps. A run of the mill extension cord will just burn up and trip your break so you do need to invest in a quality heavy gauge extension cord. Outside of that it just works. Parts are heavy duty and machine works great. Best part is the cost of this was cheaper than renting one and now I also get to keep it. Thats a win win in my book!

Great build quality!

I honestly didn’t expect much for the price point, as the equivalent Hilti would be 7 times the cost, but I was pleasantly surprised, this is a very nice hammer. It’s just really nicely built, definitely couldn’t go wrong for the price!

Light weight Jack Hammer that gets the job done!

I've had a large cylindrical piece of reinforced concrete lying around for a while now and I've tried to break it with various things but nothing seemed to work. When I saw the listing for this Jack Hammer I saw that it had an interesting name Berserker and that it was lighter Jack Hammer which swayed me into getting this particular Jack Hammer. I also liked that it matched the color of my Makita tool set. Once I received the Jack Hammer I looked over the contents of the case that the Berserker comes in. In the box I found the Jack Hammer, flat chisel, pointed chisel, hex wrench, lubrication oil and 2 carbon brushes.

After reading the manual I opened up the oil port with the hex wrench and then added some oil. After adding the oil I closed the compartment and then proceeded to add the pointed chisel. Next I went to get an industrial extension cable to attach to the plug on the Berserker. After getting the Berserker prepared I set my concrete block on a sheet of Coroplast in my backyard and then turned on the Jack Hammer and proceeded to break down the concrete.

Overall the Berserker is a well made Jack Hammer. I was able to get the job done of breaking down the reinforced concrete with minimal effort and in a short amount of time.

This thing is a beast!

I like that the Berserker 1700W 25-Pound SDS-Max Demolition Jack Hammer has an adjustable handle pre-installed. It is easy to adjust to your preference, left or right, higher or lower. It came with a tube of lubricant that you must insert into the machine before use (read the instructions); all you have to do is remove a small plate held in place by four screws. There is an Allen wrench provided for the removal of the screws. Then fill the void with as much grease as it will take, place the plate back on, and secure it with the four screws.
Also included are two tips(chisel); one is pointed for breaking cement, and the other is flat (like a screwdriver). To install the tip onto the jackhammer, you must pull back on the collar near the end of the chuck and install the chisel. You may need to turn the chisel until it inserts appropriately; then, release the collar, which will lock it in place. The handle is comfortable, and the trigger is easy to pull; at the upper end of the switch, the self-lock will engage, and on the lower end, it will disengage (on/off). The handle has an anti-vibration structure that will significantly reduce the jarring some jackhammers will cause. It took only a few seconds to break the concrete on a fence pole, I re-set it, and again, after a few seconds, another chunk was broken off. I am happy with how easy it is to use, how well the weight is balanced, and how efficiently it works.
Excuse the video, I was holding my phone while trying to hold the handle simultaneously, but you will see the chisel break the cement quickly.

Surprisingly durable for light- to medium-scale demolition jobs

This electric demolition hammer is the real thing. I was surprised, in fact, with the level of quality and durability in this under-$250 tool, especially when similar 25-pound demolition jack hammers (the ones worth having, anyway) typically sell for $400-600.

It's sturdy, but light enough that it handles easily whether you're working it in a vertical or more fatiguing horizontal position, giving you longer working time. Still, it has enough weight in the tool that, at least in vertical applications, the weight will lend authority to your breaking. It draws 14 amps, which means it can plug in just about anywhere into standard household current.

It comes with two moils/bits, pointed and flat SDS (slotted-drive system) chisels, with a quick-release chuck, which makes rapid removal and installation easier. The

I didn't expect the power of a $3,500, 70-pound pneumatic hammer and, of course, I didn't get it. This machine promises up to 2,100 blows per minute at a maximum of 33.2 ft-lbs, which is realistic for the lighter weight (the more powerful/heavier weight the jackhammer, the few BPM it tends to produce). It chews through the average cinderblock wall or old cracked pavement in no time.

It's a good choice for smaller demolition of concrete or asphalt and would certainly compare favorably with the most popular jackhammers in this power range, such as the Makita ($800-$1,000 depending on where you shop). It lacks some of the refinement of the Makita; there's stronger vibration with this that means you'll likely work it for shorrter periods of time. (padded gloves will help)

The unit comes with a strong, compartmentalized case, lubricant, and an extra set of carbon brushes. Recommended.
