This grinder is fairly light and has a lot of power. I used a grinding wheel on steel to test it and it worked well. It had enough power to cut the metal and not bog down. I use it for light to medium duty work and I am very happy with it. The locking switch is handy and easy for me to operate. The battery charged rapidly and lasted long enough to do several jobs. It has a charge indicator which is good so you don't get offsite with no working time. The kit has several different discs for a variety of jobs. It even has a wood saw blade which works very well. The side mounted handle can be on the left or right and makes a the tool much more controllable and steady. The storage bag is made from light material and is too small. I have to take the battery off to get the grinder to fit in the bag. The price is high compared to other battery grinders. Overall it is a good unit but I would shop around for a better price.
This kit comes with a good selection of accessories and all appears to be well made. I love that the handle can be added on either side - something my Makita corded grinder can't do. My only small complaint is with the guard. While being able to install and remove it without tools is a great idea, in practice I find it quite fiddley. Every time I have installed it, I have had to remove it and tighten the nut. Otherwise the guard is always too loose to hold position. Because of this, it is less than quick and easy. The battery provides plenty of grinding time and spare batteries are available. Duplicates of all cutting accessories is also a nice addition. I love not having a cord in the way or needing a plug-in when I want to work outdoors.
The only thing that isn't "as advertised" is the charger. It has a red LED that is supposed to light when the unit is plugged in to show it is ready. This LED has NEVER come on. The green LED that shows charging status works as it should so no big deal, but it is odd.
I don't know if this will ever be able to fully replace my corded angle grinders, but this shows every indication of becoming a new go-to favorite for quick jobs. It seems to have plenty of power and I have not used it for long enough in any session to run down the battery. One VERY NICE feature is that it seems to have a "gentle start" or "slow start" feature where when you activate the power switch the tool "spools up" a little more gently than my old-school corded grinders. This means that I don't have to fight the torque or the tool on start-up and I feel it lets me do better work. Lots of extra "stuff" included - blades, wheels, guard, etc. - but an extra battery would have been a nice extra. Oh well, this seems like a good tool anyway.
Berserker may not be a well-know brand but they have been making heavy duty stuff like hammer frills for quite a while. So this is a logical move into angle grinders. This is a very solid product. It arrives with all the pieces packed very firmly in dense foam - no chance of damage in shipping. I like the fact that it is cordless and has a brushless motor.
I would have given this 5 stars if it came wth a second battery,
I have a plug in DEWALT angle grinder and that thing scares me sometimes. The torque is too much occasionally. This is a great option for hard to reach spots where you need some power and cutting but also need to be able to control what you’re doing. It comes with all the discs you need to get started and it’s just a great option. No regrets on this buy at all.
