1700W 30-Pound SDS-Hex Jack Hammer

My husband and I have been renovating our house and there was a section of concrete we really wanted to break up. This tool is legit. It's heavy duty, came in a nice case (with wheels!) and was easy to take out of the box and get to work. It breaks up concrete easily and saved us so much time and money. We're happy with it and now are trying to figure out what else we can use it for!

They don’t call this thing the Berserker for nothing. But what’s truly berserk is how easy it is to use. I’ll be honest, I was intimidated at first. This seems like a serious piece of machinery (which it totally is), but then I started looking up videos of people online demonstrating how to use a Berserker jack hammer, and most of them were wearing flip flops. Now, I had no intentions of being so cavalier with such a powerful tool, but it definitely took the pressure off.

Still, I decided that for my first time using the jack hammer I’d wear my one and only pair of steel-toed shoes. Just to be safe. But if I’m being honest, this thing was a breeze to use. I needed to break up some concrete in my backyard that was used to mount a clothesline a million years ago when the building was built. It was time for the clothesline to go.

The ergonomics on this jackhammer are truly fantastic. I was afraid I’d be exhausted after 30 seconds, but I think I could break up concrete all day without breaking a sweat. Okay, maybe that’s and exaggeration, but it was almost too easy…dangerously easy…to use this thing.

The case that it comes in is a nice touch and keeps it clean and safe in my garage. But the build quality of the case certainly doesn’t match the high quality of the tool itself. Aside from that, I have nothing but great things to say about this berserker. I even find myself trying to work it into conversation just so I can say the word “berserker” out loud.

I have several Berserker tools and I can say they are all good quality tools. I needed to break up some concrete so it was a no brainer to pick Berserker.
The power is not what I expected from a smaller model jack hammer. I expected to have to use more upper body strength but this jack hammer has a good weight that did all the work. It is still a job to use it but you are not having to throw all of you're body weight on it to get it to work. I used it to break up huge chunks of reclaimed sidewalk concrete to build a small retaining wall and it worked with out any issues at all.
Now if I could only find more things to break up with it.

I'm surprised my fingers were quick enough to grab this baby from Vine. While I don't have a particular reason to own one of these, I recalled borrowing an 80lb jack a few years ago to break up some stone in my yard... that sucked! I also remember how many weekends I needed to break up all that stone... so many! And then I thought, what would it have cost me if I had to rent the jackhammer instead of borrowing a friends? Tool rental prices are absurd!

So I do plan to move my shed next year and I'll need to break up the old concrete pylons it is currently sitting on. I'm hoping this hammer will make quick work of the concrete! I'm not so sure it will work well on breaking up granite rocks of medium/large sizes. The item arrived well packaged and in it's case. The case hold the hammer and all associated parts nicely. The wheels on the case make it easier to move this baby around, but as the hammer isn't very tall, you will need to bend your back to roll the case along the ground. Adding a retractable handle akin to suitcases would have alleviated the back bending issue.

My unit appeared brand new and the shaft was well oiled and wrapped in a plastic sheath. I kept the sheath on it to avoid oil from running in the case. I am storing it upright in my shed until next spring/summer when I might actually get a chance to really demo some rock! Until then, I'll give this a 4 star review as the item is in great condition and appears to be well built. I will revisit this review next year if the item doesn't function correctly or behaves poorly.

Wow! What a great machine! I originally purchased this for a home remodeling project and and am so pleased with the product I received! This cut my project time in half. The tool itself is a bit heavy, about 60 pounds, but is very sturdy and made of some very good quality material. The bits included are very good quality as well and really hold up. I had no issues with my first and second use of the tool. The instructions are a little on the light side if that’s something that’s important to you, but overall this is an amazing tool at an amazing price point!
